Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
This certificate measures the energy efficient of a property. The scale used to record a property’s energy efficiency ranges from A-G, with A being the most efficient. By law, a property should have a valid EPC requested before it can be marketed.
Equity
This is the difference in the value of the property against the outstanding sum payable on any loan used to secure the property.
Exchange of Contracts
At this point during a sale, the exchange of contracts legally ties the two parties to the sale and purchase of the property at the pre-agreed price.
